A famous wealthy and a social worker named Kedar Nath's (Chander Shekhar) wife Vandana (Vandana Shastri) is caught in a railway accident and the circumstances compelled Kedar Nath to presume that she was dead and he married Seema Devi (Urmila Bhatt).  Vandana, who was actually saved in the accident was shocked to hear this that Seema Devi is married to Kedar Nath and also an expectant mother. Vandana sacrificed her marital right. Coincidently both the women gave birth to female babies in the same hospital. Vandana's mother (Shyama) who is a prostitute interchanged the newly born babies without the knowledge of Vandana.

After sometime Kedar Nath died and Seema Devi vowed to go ahead to achieve her husband's incomplete goal of social work. When Seema Devi wet to the prostitutes, red light area for propagating Kedar Nagh Nari Sudhar Kendra, she meet the dying Vandana who handed over her child Raksha to Seema Devi an died. Rakahs (Baby Pinky) was actually the daughter of Seema Devi. The pimp Charandas (C.S. Dubey) also came to know about this secret. He started blackmailing Seema Devi.

The grown Raksha (Bindiya Goswami) and Asha (Yogita Bali) are the one soul with two bodies. Asha is in love with Vijay (Suresh Oberoi) and Raksha loves Dr. Suraj (Rakesh Roshan). But the manager of Seema Devi (Satyen Kapoo) and Vijay conspired to eat away the property of Seema Devi. Charandas also joined this conspiracy. They cooked up such a plan that Seema Devi and Asha started hating Raksha.

Raksha who was molested by Vijay was sent again to the brothel Raksha somewhow managed to run away from the brothel. Dr. Suraj not only gave her shelter but accepted her orphan child as his own child and married her. At the time of marriage Asha came to know that Vijay is already married. Asha became mad by this shock and Vijay is sentenced to jail. Raksha is happy with her husband and child. Dr. Suraj without knowing the relation between Asha and Raksha treated Ash. Asha wanted to marry Dr. Suraj. When Raksha came to know about this she thought that if Asha does not get married, she will die. She suicides, thus sacrificed her marital status for the sake of Asha. Then Asha came to know that the property and husband on whom she was claiming her right was really belonging to Raksha Vijay bent upon to take a revenge.
